By year 1998, Continental Sales, Inc. (CSI) started its partnership and brought the brand Haier in the Philippines under a joint-venture company named Haier-LKG.
The initial distribution back then was Chest Freezers, Refrigerators, Wine Cooler & Washing Machine. Through these years, Haier Freezers was so aggressive in making up its name, that it opened as a breakthrough for other brands to start and emerge in the Philippine Market aside from other pioneers such as GE, Kelvinator, National (Panasonic) and Sanyo.

When Haier bought Sanyo Philippines and became HPI (Haier Electrical Appliance Philippines, Inc.) around 2012, in order to create a clear distinction and simplify the division between CSI and HPI, CSI focused on the distribution of Chest Freezers, Beverage Cooler
and Wine Cooler. On the other hand, HPI focused on all other lineups such as Air Conditioners, TVs, Washing Machine, Refrigerators, among others.​
